An aerial & satellite engineer who actually works in Kensington & Chelsea.
Kensington and Chelsea is almost entirely conservation area, and much of it is listed. White stucco frontages onto garden squares are protected specifically because they are uniform, so an aerial or dish bolted to the front is both a planning problem and a neighbour problem.
Nearly all of our work here therefore goes to the rear elevation, a rear chimney, a discreet roof position hidden by a parapet, or into the loft. Where none of that gives a usable signal we say so and look at Freesat or the building's communal feed rather than fitting something that will have to come down.
Signal comes from Crystal Palace and is generally strong across the borough, but the tall, deep terraces and mansion blocks create their own obstructions, particularly for lower-floor and garden flats behind other buildings. In practice this is a borough where position, not aerial size, decides whether the picture is stable.
We cover Chelsea, South Kensington, Earl's Court, Knightsbridge fringe, Notting Hill and Holland Park. Typical jobs are multi-room distribution in tall five-storey houses, Sky Q dish repositioning after building work, whole-house cabled Wi-Fi in properties where wireless never reaches the top floor, and CCTV planned so nothing intrudes on a protected frontage.

Why Kensington & Chelsea rooftops fail, and how we fix them.
In Kensington and Chelsea the recurring issues are visibility, building height and distribution rather than raw signal.
Nothing permitted on the front elevation
Uniform protected frontages mean front-mounted aerials and dishes are unacceptable. Rear, parapet or loft positioning is the standard solution here.
Tall houses fed from one outlet
Five floors served by a single aerial point leaves the upper rooms with an unusable picture. Correctly amplified multi-room distribution fixes every outlet at once.
Garden and basement flats blocked by neighbouring buildings
Lower-level flats behind taller terraces often have no viable path at all. Freesat or a feed from a higher position is the honest answer.
Wi-Fi dying between floors
Thick masonry between five storeys stops wireless within one or two rooms. A cabled backbone with access points on each floor is the only dependable fix.
Dishes moved or damaged by building works
Extensions, roof terraces and refurbishments frequently disturb dish alignment and cabling. Repositioning and re-cabling restores Sky Q properly.

Can I put an aerial on a listed Chelsea townhouse?
+
Not usually on the front. We plan a rear chimney, a position hidden behind the parapet or a loft install, which keeps the protected frontage clear while still giving a stable picture.
My top floor has a poor picture but downstairs is fine. Why?
+
The signal is being split without amplification, so each additional outlet weakens the rest. A properly designed distribution amplifier restores full strength to every point.
Is Freesat a realistic alternative here?
+
Yes, particularly for lower-ground and garden flats with no clear terrestrial path, provided a dish can be sited discreetly. We will tell you before quoting whether it is viable.
Can you get Wi-Fi to work across five floors?
+
Yes, with a Cat6 backbone and ceiling access points on each floor. Wireless alone will not pass through this construction reliably.
Do you cover Notting Hill and Holland Park?
+
Yes, along with Chelsea, South Kensington, Earl's Court and the Knightsbridge fringe.
My Sky dish stopped working after building work. Can you fix it?
+
Yes, we realign or reposition the dish and replace disturbed cabling or the LNB so Sky Q runs correctly again.
Can CCTV be installed without spoiling the frontage?
+
Yes. Cameras and cable routes are planned to cover entry points while staying visually discreet on protected elevations.
Do you charge to quote?
+
No, the call-out and written quote are free with no obligation.
