Get a straight-talking quoteWhere the dish should go
Gable end: usually our first choice. Solid masonry, high up, and typically clear of the roof line in every direction.
Chimney mount: excellent sky view where the stack is sound. We check the mortar first, a crumbling stack gets ruled out rather than bodged.
Pole or mast extension: for properties where the roof line itself is the obstruction, a short mast lifts the dish clear.
Outbuilding or barn: for farms and stables, sometimes the best sky view is on a separate building, with the link brought back by hardwired Ethernet.
Ground stand: only where the plot is genuinely open and nothing will grow into the view. Convenient, but rarely the best long-term answer.
Getting the cable inside without causing damage
The Starlink cable is proprietary and terminated at the factory, so it cannot simply be cut and re-ended like coax. That dictates the route: we plan the entry point first, then run the full length neatly rather than trimming to fit.
Entry holes are drilled with a slight fall to the outside, fitted with a grommet and sealed, with a drip loop below the hole so rain runs off rather than in. Internally the cable is clipped along skirting or run in trunking to the router position.
Starlink and the rest of the house
Fast broadband at the router is only half the job. Thick-walled cottages, long barn conversions and three-storey houses need the signal distributing properly, either with hardwired Ethernet points to the rooms that matter or with wired access points that give one seamless network.
We fit both, so a Starlink install can be finished off with data points behind the TVs and an access point at the far end of the property in the same visit.
Domestic, agricultural and site installs
Domestic jobs prioritise a discreet dish position and hidden cabling. Farms, stables and site offices prioritise robustness: higher mounts out of reach of machinery, armoured routing where cable crosses open ground, and clear labelling.
For static caravans and lodges we mount to a solid post or bracket rather than the unit's own skin, which is rarely strong enough to hold alignment in wind.

Do you supply the Starlink kit?

You order the kit directly from Starlink, it is cheapest that way and the account has to be in your name. We install and set up the kit you have received.
How much does Starlink installation cost?

How long does the installation take?

Most domestic installs are a half day. Awkward access, long cable runs or an additional access point can take a full day.
Will trees stop Starlink working?

Partly obstructed views cause intermittent dropouts rather than a total failure, which is why we check the sky view properly before mounting rather than after.
Can you move a dish that is already installed?

Yes. Relocating a ground-stand dish onto a gable end or chimney is one of the most common Starlink jobs we do.
Can you mount it on the chimney?

Usually yes, provided the stack and mortar are sound. If it is not safe to fix to, we will say so and suggest a gable or pole mount instead.
Will my Wi-Fi reach the whole house?

The supplied router is decent but not magic. If your property is long, thick-walled or split over several floors we can add hardwired access points or data points to cover it properly.
Is the cable entry weatherproof?

Yes. Every entry is grommeted, sealed and fitted with a drip loop so water runs away from the hole rather than into it.
